SUMMARY:Vision Institute of Canada Virtual Conference 2020
DESCRIPTION:2020 is a very challenging year\, forcing everyone to think outside the box to deliver quality continuing education. Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19\, we made the decision to replace the 39th Annual Fall Conference and Trade Show with a one day virtual conference. This event is the cornerstone of our annual fundraising and raises much needed funds to enable the Vision Institute to continue to provide exemplary clinical services to underserved communities and at-risk patient populations. \nNow\, more than ever\, we need you — our colleagues and peers — to continue your support of the Vision Institute and register for this virtual conference. We’re pleased to offer a program of all Canadian speakers –leaders in our field who are recognized internationally for their knowledge and expertise. There will be time for Q & A at the end of each session. \nThe heart of the Vision Institute is our clinic where the clinic staff deliver services to patients with special needs\, including children\, seniors\, residents of special care facilities\, and those with cognitive and physical disabilities. Care provided for residents of long-term care homes and those living in shelters has been curtailed\, and we are looking forward to the care we will be able to provide under the “new normal” conditions in the days and weeks ahead. We are delighted that the clinic reopened June 22\, 2020 and is providing much-needed care while observing strict health and safety protocols. Our clinic appreciates your support and referrals and is proud to participate in the care of your patients. \nClick HERE for the full brochure for more info. \nTo register\, click HERE.

SUMMARY:CRO Live Event: The Optometrists Role in Protecting Patients from the Dangers of UV and HEVL
DESCRIPTION:While the human eye is a marvel of evolution\, the manner in which our eyes are used in our modern digital age has changed dramatically in the last few decades.  The subject of Ultraviolet (UV) radiation and human response to High Energy Visible Light (HEVL) – also referred to as “blue light” –  is widely mentioned in consumer media and debated in scientific and academic circles. \nIn response to the increasingly recognized adverse affects of both UV and HEVL in the digital age\, the optical industry has created various solutions to reduce patients’ risk. \nThis program provides a review of the impact of UV radiation and HEVL and brings awareness to the impact on the visual system and overall human health. Various product solutions and patient communications strategies can be deployed to help primary eye care practitioners answer patients’ question. This course will help primary eye care practitioners educate and inform patients and choose appropriate strategies. \nThis is a 2 hour COPE CE event including the following COPE approved courses: \nSunshine has a dark side:\nCourse ID# 62239-PM\nInstructor Gregory Naes \nSafe versus unsafe claims in blue light management\nCourse ID# 59642-PM\nInstructor. Mr. Gregory Naes \nCOPE Event# 117310\nLimited spaces available. \nMore information:  Click Here \nREGISTER NOW FOR THIS EVENT:  \n
