ZEISS brought eye care professionals together at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver on October 4 for the Myopia Innovation Summit, combining clinical education, new technology and practical approaches to myopia management.
The event introduced ZEISS MyoActive, a myopia management spectacle lens for children that delivers one of the highest average efficacy results to date with a spectacle lens (0.60 D on average).¹ Professor Padmaja Sankaridurg presented the science behind the innovation, followed by a fireside discussion connecting research with clinical practice.
Dr. Debbie Jones explored spectacle lens treatments and the importance of measurement in myopia management, while Dr. Wes McCann addressed glaucoma assessment in myopic eyes, including imaging and progression analysis. Dr. Evelyn Lo shared practice management insights and her experience with MyoActive.
“What stands out about ZEISS MyoActive is how easily children can adapt to the lenses. Its unique MOVE technology brings a fresh, innovative approach to myopia management, making it an exciting new option for young patients,” said Dr. Lo.¹
Hands-on demonstrations connected diagnostics, consultation tools, treatment options and patient communication, bringing the patient journey to life. The emphasis was on translating evidence into action.

The series continues in Montréal on October 17 and Toronto on October 25.
¹ Twelve-month results from an ongoing two-year prospective, multicentre, double-blind randomized controlled clinical trial (NCT06563700), Shanghai Eye Disease Prevention and Treatment Center, China. Myopic children aged 7–13 years: ZEISS MyoActive (n=56) versus ZEISS Single Vision Rx lenses (n=56). MyoActive showed 0.60 D less spherical equivalent refractive error progression on average versus single-vision lenses; 98% of children fully adapted within one week. Results as of July 2026; data on file.
