Medmont Steps Up as Valeant Withdraws Support for CLMA

Bob Heavyside, President of Medmont International was pleased to announce the donation of 15,000 US dollars to the Contact Lens Manufacturers Association in order to facilitate the continuation of GP lens education programs through 2016.

The donation was made all the more necessary by the abrupt withdrawal of Valeant and its affiliates Paragon and Boston Lens leaving a $150,000 shortfall. In addition to the Medmont donation, the remaining members kicked in additional resources to help off-set the shortfall.

The CLMA consists of contact lens laboratories and material, solution and equipment manufacturers in the United States, Canada and abroad.
