Group Miosis Joins FYidoctors

Calgary, AB  – FYidoctors announces that Group Miosis, a three-location practice in the city of Gatineau, Quebec, has joined the FYidoctors family as of November 8, 2016. FYidoctors welcomes Dr. Sheila Laplante and her experienced team of 11 associates, opticians and staff members.

Founded in 1960, Group Miosis has established itself as a prominent optometric presence in Gatineau offering comprehensive services, with an interest in pediatric visual exams, and a diverse frame selection across three locations. This acquisition adds to FYidoctors’ growing presence in the Hull region of Quebec and demonstrates commitment to continued expansion in the Quebec market. Group Miosis’ long-standing reputation of professional patient service executed with the utmost quality contributes a well-respected and talented team to the FYidoctors group.

“We have big plans for the Quebec market in 2017 and 2018 and the addition of the Miosis Group of doctors and clinics is in alignment with these plans.  The Quebec market is changing rapidly with multiple consolidators trying to grow.  Despite this, we believe our model of doctor-owned and patient-focused care aligns with the values of Quebec optometrists”, said Dr. Alan Ulsifer.

Dr. Sheila Laplante had the following comments on the recent partnership, “FYI is an obvious partner for me and my clinics.  Other than having the same core values, it allowed me to put the focus back on my optometry practice and my patients, all the while working with cutting edge equipment and products.  FYI also allows me and my fellow ODs to have a say in where our profession is headed in the future.”
