New Look Eyewear and Greiche & Scaff Donate $100,000 to UdeM
The teaching staff and students of the School of Optometry at University of Montreal gathered last Monday to recognize the exceptional donation of $100,000 from the New Look Eyewear and Greiche & Scaff banners. The donation will be dedicated to the revitalization of the University Vision Clinic, a state-of-the-art training center that allows students to complete their practice under the supervision of experienced professionals.
On this occasion, Raymond Lalande, Vice-President, Relations with Graduates, Partnerships and Philanthropy at the University of Montreal, said: “The University of Montreal is aiming for nothing less than excellence, for all its students. The involvement of our graduates and our corporate partners helps us to offer study and internship environments highly appreciated by students. Their commitment through major donations, such as today’s from New Look Eyewear and Greiche & Scaff, is a powerful message of support for our mission but, above all, it challenges us to always do better.”
“We work at the crossroads of visual health and retail and the quality of eye care is an integral part of our DNA. It is therefore natural for us to contribute to the training of our future optometrists and the development of the profession, ” added Mr. Mario Pageau, Senior Vice President, New Look Vision Operations, and President of New Look Eyewear. “We are very pleased to contribute to the Optometry Clinic Revitalization Project with this donation of $100,000 and with a brand-new examination room at the Clinic, which will now carry the names of New Look Eyewear and Greiche & Scaff.”
Plans for the new University Vision Clinic have been designed to enhance student education and collaborative practice, to enhance the patient experience while providing an exceptional work environment for the School’s clinicians and faculty professors.
