New Free ConEd Course on Sport Protective Eyewear Available

“Protecting Your Patients Who Are Athletes: A Matter of Public Health”, is now available as a free online accredited course supported by a grant from Liberty Sport, a leading supplier of sports protective eyewear in North America.

This comprehensive online course provides 3 EC Credits in most Canadian provinces through NACOR accreditation, and 1 EG credit for Ontario Opticians.

Opticians taking the course will learn about the prevalence of eye injuries by sport, gender and age, what makes eyewear sport protective and how to prescribe and dispense sport protective eyewear so patients follow recommendations.

The full course and accreditation details, including those applicable in the new British Columbia competencies system, can be previewed at www.optikconed.ca.

Once previewed, users register in the OptikConEd examination portal. Course view, online examination and instant accreditation are provided through the Optik educational portal. A variety of sponsored and paid courses are available.
