CooperVision Canada Launches MyDay® MiSight® 1 day, Its Latest Contact Lens for Myopia Control

CooperVision Canada has announced the launch of MyDay® MiSight® 1 day contact lenses, a new daily disposable option designed to help slow the progression of myopia in children. The lens combines the advanced silicone hydrogel material used in MyDay® lenses with the ActivControl® Technology featured in the original MiSight® 1 day lenses.
According to CooperVision, one in two children born today may develop myopia by the age of 20. The condition can significantly affect a child’s quality of life, making school, sports and daily activities more challenging. Early intervention is therefore essential.
Clinical data shows that ActivControl® Technology can reduce the rate of myopia progression by approximately 50%. This technology is supported by the longest-running soft contact lens clinical trial conducted among children. Today, more than a quarter of a million children worldwide wear contact lenses featuring this technology.
The lens design incorporates both vision correction zones and treatment zones, providing clear vision while helping to manage myopia progression.
Improved Comfort, Handling and Oxygen Transmission
MyDay® MiSight® 1 day offers several enhancements compared with the original MiSight® 1 day lens, including:
- improved comfort reported by wearers,
- up to four times the oxygen transmissibility of a traditional hydrogel daily disposable lens,
- a built‑in UV blocker,
- easier handling and insertion.
These features aim to support consistent daily wear, which is essential for effective myopia management.
Support Tools for Eye Care Professionals
To assist eye care professionals, CooperVision provides a suite of tools including OptiExpert™, the Axial Length Estimator and the QuickStart program. Marketing materials for clinics are also available upon request.
MyDay® MiSight® 1 day will be available in Canada beginning August 3, 2026. Eye care professionals can order trial and revenue lenses through their usual CooperVision channels. At launch, the lens will be offered in sphere powers ranging from –0.25D to –10.00D.
