Industry-Leading Transitions® Adaptive Shield Technology Offered as Standard on New Bell® Qualifier DLX Helmet

New Bell helmet includes Transitions® photochromic technology as standard for the first time

PINELLAS PARK, Fla.– Recognizing the benefits of best-in-class photochromic technology for motorcycle riders, Bell® Powersports and Transitions Optical, Inc. have further expanded their six-year partnership and announced that Transitions® adaptive face shield technology is included as a standard feature on the new Bell® Qualifier DLX helmet. Hailed at its launch as, “innovative, uniquely functional, and highly valued[1],” the Qualifier DLX is designed to offer the most advanced technology available at an entry-level price. In addition to the Transitions shield technology, which reacts to sunlight and automatically adapts from clear to dark and every shade in between, the helmet is also equipped to accommodate the Bell Sena SMH10 and Cardo Scala Rider Q1/Q3 Bluetooth® stereo headset and intercom for enhanced communication capabilities.

“This announcement marks a significant evolution in our relationship with Bell Helmets and is a testament to the strength of our partnership and the natural compatibility of their products with our technology,” said Larissa Bryan, director, Transitions Sunwear. “We know motorcyclists love the technology, as evidenced by the popularity of the Bell Transitions ClickRelease shields currently offered as an accessory for five existing Bell Helmet models. Having our technology come standard on the Qualifier DLX is a tremendous step forward, as many more riders will now have an opportunity to experience the convenience of not having to change between two shields.”

The Transitions adaptive shield, which blocks 100 percent of UV rays in both activated and inactivated states, is clear at night and automatically adjusts to dark gray in bright sunlight, optimizing vision at all times. When fully activated, it is designed to enhance contrast, reduce glare and improve distance and depth perception.

The Qualifier DLX helmet also features a lightweight polycarbonate shell, an adjustable ventilation system, a padded wind collar, moisture-wicking, removable and washable interior, contoured cheek pads, integrated speaker pockets, NutraFog II™ anti-fog, anti-scratch coating and an industry-leading five year warranty.
