Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate sales staff
Assign sales workers to duties and prepare work schedules
Authorize payments and the return of merchandise
Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
Maintain specified inventory and order merchandise
Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
Hire and train or arrange for the training of new sales staff and monitor and report on performance
Ensure the visual standards and image of the store are maintained, such as store displays, signage and cleanliness
May perform the same duties as workers supervised
Assist clients in selecting eye glasses
Opening and closing the store, managing escalated complaints, developing and implementing marketing strategies, and signing for deliveries.
Skills:
- Strong retail sales experience
- Knowledge of store management principles and practices
- Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems to process transactions
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships with customers
- Strong negotiation skills to close sales and upsell products
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced retail environment
- Attention to detail for accurate cash handling and inventory management
- Basic math skills for calculating discounts, totals, and change accurately
