About Us:Lio & Light Eyecare is a modern, independent optometry clinic located in the heart of Forest Hill Village, Toronto. Founded by Dr. Alexa Hecht, our clinic is built on a philosophy of thorough, unhurried care with a warm and personalized patient experience.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a licensed Ontario Optometrist to cover a maternity leave contract beginning in January 2027 for approximately 4–6 months with an opportunity to stay on part-time afterwards. This is an excellent opportunity for an OD seeking flexible part-time work, a new graduate building their clinical hours, or an experienced associate looking for a rewarding short-term contract in a beautifully equipped, well-run clinic.
Schedule: 2 days per week — Saturdays + one weekday (flexible), with possibility of another day.
What You’ll Be Doing:
-Comprehensive eye examinations for adults and children
-Contact lens examinations and fittings
-Dry eye assessments
-Myopia control and children’s eye exams
-Retinal imaging and OCT interpretation
Our Equipment:
Topcon Slit Lamp, Topcon Imaging & OCT, iCare Tonometer, user friendly EMR system, we offer direct billing. We have a front desk staff member who will perform check-in, scheduling, pre-testing, direct billing etc.
What We’re Looking For:
Licensed Optometrist in good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario
Warm, patient-focused communication style that aligns with our clinic culture
Comfortable performing comprehensive exams independently
Malpractice insurance in good standing
Availability Saturdays + one weekday starting January 2027
Competitive associate rate offered — percentage of collections or daily rate (non-dispensing)
