Kering Appoints Chief Client and Digital Officer

Kering announces the appointment of Grégory Boutté as Chief Client and Digital Officer. He will report directly to Jean-François Palus, Managing director of Kering, and will be a member of the Group’s Executive Committee.

His responsabilities as Kering’s Chief Client and Digital Officer will be to lead the Group’s digital transformation and to drive the development of e-commerce, CRM and data management.

About Gregory Boutte 

Grégory Boutté, 45, began his career in fast-moving consumer goods, working in brand management at Procter & Gamble in Paris before moving to the tech sector, joining the French online auction start-up iBazar in 2000, which was acquired by eBay in 2001. He then became General Manager of eBay France, which quickly became one of the most popular e-commerce platforms in France. He went on to manage eBay Europe (excl. UK and Germany) in 2007 before moving to eBay Motors and Electronics divisions in San Jose, California in 2010. In 2013, Grégory Boutté joined Sidecar, the first short-distance, peer-to-peer ride-sharing platform which was bought by General Motors in 2016. In 2015, Gregory joined Udemy, a start-up which provides 15 million students the opportunity to take online courses.

Grégory Boutté is a graduate of ESCP Europe.

Blanchard Contact Lenses Adds New Team Member in South America

Manchester, NH  – Blanchard Contact Lenses announces  that Hector Ernesto Velasquez has joined the company as an Expert Consultant.  Velasquez will provide consultative support to Blanchard’s fast-growing number of customers in South America.

Velasquez brings to Blanchard 23 years of experience in the eye care industry, including vast expertise in fitting scleral and GP specialty lenses.  He is a member of the Scleral Lens Education Society and the International Association of Contact Lens Educators. Velasquez graduated from the Institute of Optometry in Caracas, Venezuela (Instituto Universitario de Optometria), where he was also a Professor of Clinical Contactology.  He travels around the world to share his knowledge and clinical experience in fitting specialty contact lenses. He also is a member of the professional group of Ophthalmologists of the Valley Clinic, in Venezuela.

Velasquez will be an excellent addition to Blanchard Contact Lenses’ team of highly skilled consultative staff, who are dedicated to providing eye care professionals all over the world with product knowledge and fitting support to ensure their success.

 

American Academy of Optometry Launches New Website

The American Academy of Optometry is announced the launch of a newly designed website for both the Academy and the American Academy of Optometry Foundation. The new website has been designed to offer a user-friendly experience with improved navigation and functionality, while allowing visitors to access key information more easily.

Swarovski Renews Licensing Agreement with Marcolin

Longarone (Italy) – Swarovski has renewed its global eyewear license with Marcolin Group, which will continue to design, produce and distribute Swarovski and Atelier Swarovski branded sunglasses and optical frames.

Building on a successful partnership which began in 2011 with the launch of the first eyewear collection, Swarovski has renewed its exclusive global eyewear license with Marcolin Group for another five years (Jan. 1, 2019 – Dec. 31, 2023). Marcolin Group will be responsible for the design, production and distribution of Swarovski and Atelier Swarovski collections of sunglasses and eyeglasses.

Swarovski Eyewear collections offer a wide range of sunglasses and optical styles. Iconic and masterfully crafted with a touch of glamour, they amplify sparkling individuality and modern femininity.
