Gerry Chevalier recently won the CNIB Arthur Napier Magill award for his outstanding accomplishment in service to Canadians who are blind or partially sighted.
Gerry Chevalier has been a CNIB volunteer for 20 years. He is a former member of the organization’s Board of Directors and was chair of the CNIB Library Board of Directors. Furthermore, he was one of the earliest champions of the CNIB digital library and DAISY digital talking book player.
As a person living with vision loss caused by retinitis pigmentosa, he was also brand manager of HumanWare’s Victor Reader line of digital talking book players.
Now retired, he continues to be involved with CNIB, namely by designing webinars for library members and by advising those who are responsible for answering technological questions.
