Allergan and Pfizer: Botox and Viagra Makers Merge

Biopharma giants Pfizer Inc. and Allergan plc announced unanimous board approval for the merger of the two companies, in a transaction value of $160 billion US. Under the agreement, Allergan shares are valued at a 30% premium as of the October 28 share price.

The combined company will operate under the Pfizer umbrella. The announcement touts the addition of growing revenue streams from Allergan’s portfolio, including Aesthetics and Dermatology, Eye Care and other therapeutic categories.
