FYidoctors Announces Merger with Vision Care Plus

FYidoctors announced the latest merger for the brand with the addition of Vision Care Plus, based in Alberta. With four locations, including Leduc, Wetaskiwin, Camrose, and Drayton Valley – the merger brings the total of FYidoctors clinics in the province to 57.

According to VuePoint Marketing Research Services (MRS), FYidoctors has 8% of the total provincial footprint of non-MD eye care locations in the province.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to partner with Vision Care Plus and announce the addition of four optometry clinics to the FYidoctors banner,” said Dr. Alan Ulsifer, CEO and Chairman of FYidoctors. “With our Home Office located in Calgary, we’re thrilled with the continued expansion across the province and look forward to now reaching more Albertans through vision care.”

In operation for over 30 years, Vision Care Plus was founded by Dr. Donald LeDrew in Leduc, AB. A graduate of the University of Waterloo’s School of Optometry, Dr. LeDrew’s practice has grown over the years with the addition of three additional clinics across the province.

The clinics offer a lineup of comprehensive eye care services including complete vision and eye health exams; cataract assessments; dry eye and glaucoma assessments; optomap; eyewear and frames; contact lenses; laser refractive surgery (LASIK) consultations, evaluations, referrals, follow-ups and more.

“For decades, Vision Care Plus has been diligent in providing comprehensive, personalized eye care to the communities we serve,” said Dr. LeDrew. “With this new partnership, we’re excited to continue building on this commitment and to providing the highest level of care possible to our patients in the years to come.”

The Vision Care Plus team of professionals is led by Dr. LeDrew, and includes a team of administrative staff, and optometry professionals including Dr. Shelena Ask, Dr. Donald Chin, Dr. Carolle McCarron, Dr. Jonathon Niblett and Dr. Julie Theng.
