Marchon Captures Cole Haan Global Agreement

Cole Haan announces a multiyear global license agreement with Altair, a division of Marchon to design, manufacture and distribute their sunglasses and ophthalmic eyewear collections beginning fall 2015. In Canada, the collection will be available through Marchon Eyewear.

“Cole Haan is an iconic American brand with a renowned heritage and classic design that is seamlessly executed through each of their product categories. Their skillful craftsmanship and eye for high quality will easily translate to eyewear that the Cole Haan consumer will appreciate,” said Altair Eyewear President, Steve Wright.

LACOSTE Introduces Cool Comfortable Foldable Frame: L778S

Lacoste introduces its first foldable model, L778S. Consistent with the Lacoste DNA, the style emphasizes cool comfort and functionality, blending sportswear with a contemporary look.  Available in black, matte black and blue with blue flash lenses. The croc logo is featured on both temples.

Alberta Government Provides Grant to Help Optometry Program in Vietnam

Optometry Giving Sight is pleased to be the recipient of a grant from the Alberta Government in 2015 to further sustainable eye care in Vietnam. The Community Initiatives Program (CIP) International Development grant will help provide equipment for the newly established Optometry Program in Ho Chi Minh City.

There are an estimated 21 million people in Vietnam with uncorrected refractive error; three million of those are children. Graduates of the optometry program will be deployed to various public eye clinics in Vietnam to offer much need eye and vision care services.

The program is implemented by the Brien Holden Vision Institute Foundation, in conjunction with the Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and Hanoi Medical University – with the Vietnam National Institute of Ophthalmology as a supporting partner.

New Ted Baker Collection Provides Comfort Fit for Asian Faces

Tura Inc., the inventor of fashion eyewear in 1938, debuts its Universal Fit collection from the quintessentially British Ted Baker line, featuring comfort models for Asian women and men customized to their facial structures.

The eight frames – four women’s and four men’s – are made from rich, laminated acetate material. The designs include structured plastic bridges with deeper nose pads. Additionally, two models are offered with adjustable nose pads.
