Registration Now Open at 2024 Myopia Summit

Innovation meets insight, and knowledge takes center stage at the first-ever Myopia Summit in Calgary. This event, taking place on April 20-21, 2024, at the Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire, will empower Canadian optometrists with cutting-edge information and expertise in myopia management.

Myopia Summit is set to host a lineup of world-class industry experts who are determined to change those odds. From ground-breaking research to transformative patient care strategies, these trailblazing leaders will deliver a wealth of knowledge to revolutionize the way attendees approach myopia management.

Meet the visionaries:
  • Dr. Kate Gifford: A globally recognized clinician-scientist optometrist, Dr. Gifford leads the way with her expertise in myopia management.
  • Dr. Jeffrey J. Walline: Associate Dean for Research at The Ohio State University College of Optometry, Dr. Walline has led innovative research studies and will be sharing his insights on the future of myopia.
  • Dr. Langis Michaud: A distinguished researcher, professor, and Chief of the Contact Lens Department at Université de Montréal, Dr. Michaud’s has contributed to numerous clinical studies worldwide and will be speaking on Treatment Algorithm.
  • Dr. Jeff Goodhew: A visionary optometrist as well as this year’s host of Myopia Summit. Dr. Jeff Goodhew brings extensive expertise in dry eye disease, myopia management, and glaucoma.
  • Dr. Tina Goodhew: Key opinion leader for industry leaders such as Alcon, CooperVision, and Bausch & Lomb and passionate about supporting children’s vision.
  • Dr. Vishakha Thakrar: Owner of Vaughan Vision Centre, specializing in full-scope myopia management, scleral lens fitting, and advanced dry eye treatment.
  • Dr. Devan Trischuk: A “Top 40 Under 40” optometrist in Canada, Dr. Trischuk’s main interest in myopia management has led him to deliver lectures to optometrists and healthcare professionals across North America.
  • Dr. Anita Voisin: Actively involved in the community with the Chemainus Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Chemainus, Dr. Voisin has championed multiple eye care clinics and leads top-tier community eye health programs.

Sessions will cover a wide spectrum of myopia-related topics, from the latest research and clinical practices to innovations in contact lenses and community engagement. An additional OrthoK Contact Lens session and lunch will offer a unique opportunity to explore the technical aspects of OrthoK lenses.
