The Vision Council Unveils Reimagination of Vision Expo

Heading into 2020 with the year’s symbolism for the eye care industry in tow, The Vision Council is reimagining its signature event, Vision Expo. Innovation has always been at the heart of the industry as well as the bi-annual Vision Expo, the definitive trade event for ophthalmic professionals. Now, The Vision Council, together with co-owner of the Show Reed Exhibitions, aims to mark a new era for Vision Expo with a laser-like focus on discovery, connection and experience.

Along with refreshed branding, including redesigned logos and show tagline (“The Future, Clearly”), changes will first be seen at Vision Expo East 2020—to take place at the Javits Center in New York City from March 26–29. Shaped by feedback from both exhibitors and attendees, the new concept is anchored in the form of curated neighborhoods, optimizing the connection between sellers and buyers, as well as exhibit spaces with enhanced design creativity and interactive appeal.

Vision Expo East 2020 will welcome the first-phase debut of three new distinct neighborhoods:

  • The River – Daring, design-driven artisanal products creating a show-within-a-show pavilion for select industry leaders.
  • The Union – The ultimate shopping experience of boutique and premium independent brands including exclusive, hip and fashion-forward lifestyle brands.
  • The Springs – Incubator zone for emerging talent in eyewear design.

Additional neighborhoods are planned to debut at Vision Expo East 2021 including new identities for three other essential aspects of the Show.

Furthermore, a fresh take to the Show’s continuing education courses include an accredited education area dedicated to seminars, workshops and presentations led by experts in practice management, business and marketing.

FYidoctors Acquires Medical Aesthetics Chain ReNue

FYidoctors announced Tuesday the acquisition of ReNue, a chain of doctor-led medical aesthetics clinics based in Calgary, Alberta. This acquisition marks the entry of FYidoctors into the field of medical aesthetics.

Founded in 2002 by Dr. Jason McWhirter as an extension of his established medical practice, ReNue provides holistic patient-centric care that helps patients look and feel confident. Blending the safety, security and technology of a medical practice with a highly refined aesthetic sensibility, ReNue offers patients advanced skin care, hair removal, body services, as well as minimally invasive cosmetic options, all in a private and relaxed setting.

“To our core, FYidoctors is dedicated to enhancing the lives of our patients,” said Dr. Alan Ulsifer, CEO and Chairman of FYidoctors. “We are committed to doctor-led patient care, which makes joining forces with ReNue a natural fit. As patients continue to seek out a personalized health care approach, we are positioned to support them on that journey.”

Dr. McWhirter said that patients will be the prime beneficiaries of the FYidoctors-ReNue partnership.

“Partnering with a powerhouse like FYidoctors that shares our values of putting patients before products, will enhance our footprint and, ultimately, the quality of care we provide,” said Dr. McWhirter. By bringing together our medical aesthetics expertise with FYidoctors’ established system for business support and growth, ReNue is ready to expand operations to bring our trusted, modern and holistic approach to many more patients across Canada.”
