By combining Nikon state-of-the art designs with innovative Transitions technology, patients have an optimal visual experience and increased level of satisfaction while generating more sales and future sales for clinics.
Transitions XTRActive New Generation and Transitions XTRActive Polarized feature a 35% faster fade back time compared to previous generations. They are ideal for patients who frequently move from indoors to outdoors and are looking for an optical solution that perfectly matches their dynamic lifestyles.
· Transitions XTRActive New Generation lenses protect against bright lights, provide 100% UVA and UVB protection, offer blue light protection and is the darkest photochromic lens in hot temperatures and in the car.
· Transitions XTRActive Polarized lenses are specially designed for very bright light and reflective glare exposure. They become extra dark and polarized at the same time when they are activated outdoors. Transitions XTRActive Polarized lenses do not activate indoors, neither for darkness nor for polarization. As a result, the wearer can use their digital devices without having to worry about a polarized lens blocking their view of the screen and still receive the benefit of Transitions XTRActive Polarized lenses.

To ensure clinical excellence, Specsavers has set out to build the largest network of opticians in Canada.
This is because Specsavers believe opticians are crucial to providing high-quality patient care, as they directly and significantly influence a patient’s quality of life.
Claudia Rojas
Leading the charge is Claudia Rojas, Head of Opticianry, Specsavers Canada. Claudia has over 20 years of experience working as a licensed refracting optician and has made tremendous strides in the optical industry. With her commitment to promote eyecare and eye health awareness, Claudia has served on the College of Opticians of British Columbia and is currently the Vice President of the Opticians Association of Canada (OAC) and President of the OAC’s British Columbia Chapter.
“In my new role as Head of Opticianry, I am guided by my commitment to promote eyecare and eye health awareness,” said Claudia Rojas, Head of Opticianry at Specsavers Canada. “I look forward to broadening our network and ensuring opticians feel relevant, important and appreciated, as they are integral to the eyecare industry.”
Specsavers aims to have at least one optician present at all optical stores, at all times, to mentor eyecare consultants and optimize patient care.
“Opticians are integral to the delivery of Specsavers’ purpose, which is to provide accessible, quality eyecare and affordable eyewear,” said Bill Moir, General Manager of Specsavers Canada. “With Claudia at the helm, we’ll continue to support, train and mentor opticians to provide the best care possible, for example, using our OCT scans as a standard part of pre-test and our range of quality eyewear and advanced lenses, to best serve their patients.”
Specsavers is committed to offering its retail team career-progression plans to become licensed opticians and contact lens practitioners through a sponsorship program currently in development.
ZEISS has launched ZEISS ClearView FSV lenses, creating a new category of Single Vision (SV) lens that incorporates attributes of a complex SV freeform lens design into a Stock Finished SV lens. The benefits: improved peripheral optics and lens aesthetics (flatter, thinner) at a lower cost and faster delivery compared to surfaced lens alternatives.
ZEISS has made this possible using their new ClearForm® manufacturing process that enables transposing advanced freeform designs into the finished SV lens.
The final lens delivers, on average, a three times larger zone of clear vision providing more clarity from the lens centre to the periphery in a flatter and thinner lens. ZEISS SV ClearView lenses are, on average, 34 percent flatter across all prescriptions and up to 16 percent thinner compared to typical spherical single vision lenses.
ClearView FSV comes in a wide range of material types with an extensive Rx range. A made to order SV surfaced option is also available. Contact your ZEISS representative for details.
