Zyloware Announces the Promotion of Gilda Mehraban

Zyloware has announced the promotion of Gilda Mehraban to Vice President Corporate Accounts and Business Development. As part of the Global Sales team at Zyloware, Gilda will provide a focus on strategic opportunities within the United States and Canadian markets. In her time at Zyloware, Gilda has developed specialized expertise in key account and chain management with an eye on brand building.

Mehraban was previously the Director of Business Development for De Rigo REM, managing and developing the company’s key accounts channel of distribution across the U.S. and Canada.

Previously, Gilda was the Director of Business Affairs and Legal Counsel for CMG Worldwide, as an attorney focused on intellectual property protection and licensing. In that role, she was involved in marketing and creating licensing opportunities for approximately 200 entertainment, music, sports and historical properties, including Marilyn Monroe and James Dean.

Carl Zeiss Meditec Returns to Significant Revenue Growth in Second Quarter 2020/21

Carl Zeiss Meditec AG has achieved revenue of EUR 767.4 million in the first half of fiscal year 2020/21. This corresponds to a revenue development of +7.3% vs. the past year (after adjustment for currency effects: +10.5%). In the second quarter of FY 2020/21, revenue amounted to EUR 398.5 million – a growth rate of +15.4% (after adjustment for currency effects: +18.8%).

Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to EUR 162.7 million in the first half of FY 2020/21. EBIT margin (EBIT / revenue) was 21.2%. In the second quarter of FY 2020/21, EBIT amounted to EUR 89.3 million. EBIT margin was 22.4%.

Full results for the first half 2020/21 will be published on May 10, 2021.

During the further course of FY 2020/21, the company expects an ongoing normalization of business development. Revenue is expected to reach around EUR 1.6 billion in FY 2020/21. EBIT margin for FY 2020/21 is projected to reach a level of approximately 20%.

FYidoctors Adds Clinic in Lloydminster

FYidoctors announced its merger with The Eyewear Place, located in Lloydminster, Alberta. The addition marks the second clinic merger in the province in recent months, and the first FYidoctors clinic in the city of Lloydminster.

Dr. Larson completed his Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta in 2010, and his Doctor of Optometry from Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry in 2014. He brings to the clinic a wide variety of experience in optometric specialties, having spent his final year of clinical rotations in several diverse optometry practices across the United States.

The Eyewear Place has been involved in several local causes, spearheaded by optician, Paula Phillips, including annual fundraising initiatives for the MS Society of Canada, and a holiday drive for the Salvation Army.
