Danish Brand Nine Now Distributed by PRISME OPTICAL GROUP

Canadian company PRISME OPTICAL GROUP announces that it is the exclusive distributor of the Danish brand Nine in Canada. The seven unique collections of Nine Eyewear optical and sunglasses are designed in Denmark and made by hand by qualified artisans in Japan.

Since 2010, the Nine company has created extremely light-weight titanium eyeglasses. The Danish brand’s name, “Nine”, is inspired by the fact that all frames, independently of their shape, colour or material, weigh 9 grams or less.

Perfectly adaptable to the needs of every client, the seven collections Nine, Nine Edge, Nine 3rd, Nine Origin, Nine IBT, Nine Five and Nine Sun are a blend of lightness and comfort. It is therefore possible to order three different bridge sizes in width, three different lengths of temple tips and either silicone or titanium nose pads.

Nine Eyewear received the Red Dot Award, a prestigious and internationally acclaimed prize in the product design category.

New Navajo Collaboration from AYA 

Navajo master weaver Kathy Marianito created the design of ASPEN based on a memory of a blanket her Great-Great Grandfather Manuelito owned. This style is lightweight and very comfortable to wear. Semi-rimless front allows for progressive lenses and the frame has adjustable nose pads to allow for a more customized fit. Available in a sleek matte burgundy or matte black.

Vision Council Lab Division Announces Director’s Choice Award Recipient

The Lab Division of The Vision Council announced on August 3rd the industry veterans who will be recognized during the Directors’ Choice Award and 19th Annual Lab Division Hall of Fame celebration on Wednesday, September 26, in conjunction with the Lab Division Meeting and International Vision Expo West.

The Division has named Dave Cole, former President of Transitions Optical, as the 2018 recipient of the Directors’ Choice Award honoring his 26+ years in the optical industry, as a champion for a game-changing technology, and as a partner to optical labs.

Dave Cole will be recognized alongside this year’s Lab Division Hall of Fame inductees at the Hall of Fame banquet, held during The Vision Council’s Lab Division meeting at International Vision Expo West.

The 2018 Lab Division Hall of Fame inductees were also announced:

Zowee Wow Distinctive Eyewear is now the new distributor for the boutique eyewear collection Roger Eye Design in Canada.

Zowee Wow’s passion is offering distinctive boutique eyewear that is both fun and wearable. They provide unique eyewear lines that differentiate their customers within the marketplace while supporting them with outstanding customer service and value.

“We’ve proudly featured Roger Eye Design, with vivid colours and European styling since 2011 in the United States along with our own collection Rain City Eyewear which is designed in Seattle, Washington.
